Here's one thing I've done: I got a Google Voice account (free) and reduced my landline phone plan to the absolute bare miniumum that gives me a dial tone. With the minimum plan, the phone co. would charge me every time I make a call, but with Google Voice, I never make a call on my landline -- I just go to my computer, tell Google Voice who I want to call, then it calls me on my landline and connects me to the other person -- all for free. Also, if you give everyone a Google Voice number to use when they call you, Google Voice will provide free caller-ID and voicemail services. So that's one way you can use your internet connection to cut down on your phone bill.

You probably already know this, but if you have a laptop and a TV with a PC input (all the new ones have that), then you can watch a lot of TV for free through your computer, but on your TV.
